Day 57: After much needed rest, a full tank of gas, and above average gas station coffee, we head towards El Chaltén and Fitz Roy. 30km in we had our first glimpse and 50km in she was in plain sight. We've beyond blessed with weather and today, thankfully, was no different. After 80km it seemed as if she was to getting any closer, just hovering, dare I say, majestically. At this point we finally found an access road to pull off and take the first of what I imagine will be 100 photos. All fatigue and angst were gone. The usual playlist returned and spirits were high. We we're at Fitz Roy.

Day 58: Passed out while writing last night. Looks like we will be skunked on the sunrise this morning. Hikes sans coffee and food are a terrible idea, especially if you get skunked on a sunrise. Made it back to town on mac and cheese and bread, and was ready to punch a baby for a steak if need be. Decided to get a hostel and live like a person with a paycheck for the evening, if only for a hot shower and laundry. Fitz Roy truly seems to hover over the rest of the range. No matter the distance or lighting. Never thought grey could be so dynamic and downright beautiful.

Quote without context from our new British hitchhiker James: "To be fair, I wouldn't want bad energy walking through my back yard either"

Day 59: LAUNDRY DAY! Nice relaxed wake up with left-overs and coffee for breakfast. Wifi is shit in this entire town, to the point it is impossible to send an email, so we cleaned and re-packed the truck this morning. Took 15 minutes to start Katarina this morning...but we didn't have to push! Holy shit lamb stew. Ahonikenk in El Chaltén has a life changing lamb stew and I couldn't be happier for the opportunity to come back for lunch. Laundry delay almost cost us Perito Moreno, but thankfully ol girl and an 8mpg pace got us here on time. Yet another sight whose perceived grandeur isn't subject to distance or light. I couldn't tell you if it's 500m or 5km in length. Getting here at sunset with no other tourists was one of the happiest coincidences of the trip so far. More Quotes Without Context from James: "This is my Mum's first record...she's not a lesbian." "Wowzers in my trousers" "Crumbs"
